Prof. Dato Sri. Dr. Song Swee Hee was born in 1956 is an International Wushu (Kuoshu) Referee  and the Instructor-in-Chief of the Nanyang Wushu Federation Of Sarawak with more than 20 training centres. At present, he is the President Of International Martial Arts Research Institute, President of Sarawak State Kuoshu Association, Chairman of Martial Art Federation Of Malaysia, Chairman of Nanyang Wushu Federation of Sarawak and Chairman of People’s Cultural Arts Institute

Prof. Song holds a Degree from the International Martial Arts Medical University, U.S.A. and is a a Doctor of Referee & Coach of Martial Arts (Ph.D). He also hold numerous doctorate degrees such as Doctor of Sport Science in International Martial Arts (Honoris Causa) by Ansted University, United Kingdom in 2003, Doctorate Degree Of Medicine (Acupuncture) from the International University For Complementary Medicines, Colombo in 2004  and the Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Education and Martial Arts (Ph.D) from the West Coast University, Panama, Coasta Rica in 2012. He was appointed as Professor of International Martial Arts Research Institute, U.S.A. in 1999, Honorary Distinguished Professor by Asian-Australian Institute of Civil Leadership (established in the Commonwealth Of Australia) in 2006 and also inducted as “Professor Of Martial Arts” in the World Martial Arts Black Belt Hall Of Fame in 2005.

Prof Song,  first started to learn Chinese martial arts in  1970 under the late Grandmaster Lim Leng Huat. In 1974, he was one of the prime mover to initiate the establishment of Nanyang Wushu Federation Of Sarawak.  In 1989, he introduced WUSHU to schools as one of their co-curriculum. In 1991, he started the yearly “NANYANG WUSHU FESTIVAL” which is a series of events of showcasing Cultural arts, Wushu Championships and Exhibitions. The Annual International Nanyang Wushu Festival was the brainchild of Prof Song was organized in 1997 which attracted participations from Switzerland, China, Chinese Taipei, Singapore, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Hongkong, Japan, Canada, Korea and Malaysia.

He has given exceptional and outstanding contributions towards the promotion and development of cultural movements since 70’s and has, to date  devoted more than four decade of service toward the development of cultural and martial arts, such as WUSHU, TAIJI, LION, DRAGON, PHOENIX AND UNICORN DANCES as well as CHINGAY to members of the community at local, national and international levels. His activities have contributed to the youths and social development programme of the government by diverting our youths from the negative effect effects of drug abuse, vandalism and juvenile delinquency. His propagation of the art has sparked off keen interest amongst other races and the practice of the arts has contributed towards the enhancement of national integrations.

Prof. Song has represented the State and Nation in several overseas Championships. He is the Championship of Martial Arts in the 4th World Cup International Martial Arts Tournament held in Los Angeles, USA in 1993 and is also one of the TOP 10 to receive the World Outstanding Martial Arts Gold Medal Award. Beside his own participation in oversea championship, he also bring his team to represent the State and Nation to World & International Championships whereby they won remarkable results and put the name of Sarawak and Malaysia in the world map of Wushu. His untiring efforts and time in grooming this special group of Wushu exponents is highly commendable.

Prof Song’s contribution towards the promotion and development of Martial arts has won due recognition from various martial arts organization, government agencies and non-governmental organizations at State, National and International level.

In recognition of his contributions, he was decorated with the following awards;

  1. Outstanding Youth of the Year 1992 by the Sarawak State Government

  2. International Man of The Year 1992/1993 by the International Biographical Centre Of Cambridge, England

  3. Man Of The Year 1992 By the American Biographical Institute USA

  4. The World Lifetime Achievement Award (Limited Hallmark 1992) By the American Biographical Institute USA

  5. The Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 1993 by Junior Chamber Malaysia (JCI)

  1. Conferred the Darjah Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak – Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) in 1996, Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) in 2004, Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) in 2012 by His Excellency,the Governor Of Sarawak, Malaysia

  2. Conferred the Darjah Yang Mulia Pangkuan Negara – Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) in 2001 by His Majesty, the King Of Malaysia.

  3. Conferred the Yang Amat Mulia Sri Paduka Pepati Di Raja Bangsawan Tinggi Istana Kerjaan Kutai Mulawaran “DATO SRI DI RAJA” BY Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sri Paduka Baginda Maharaja Srinala Praditha

  4. Endorsed as Record holder in the Malaysia Book Of Record (Millennium Edition)

  5. And many other awards from local and oversea organizations.

 

Prof. Song, having gained the respect of his peers and earned the trust of the peoples, he sees a more challenging task ahead of here as he goes forth to participate and influence the society via the various organizations that he is involved in. He sights perseverance, teamwork. Discipline and determination as his tools in achieving his aims.

 

Prof. Song’s leadership qualities, social responsible and personal achievements serves as a source of inspiration and example to the young and old.
